Why can my friend see my Web site and I can't?

When you change your domain DNS settings, these new settings must propagate throughout the worlds DNS servers. During the propagation process your newly registered or transferred domain is being updated by the various Internet providers around the world at their own pace. Your friend may be using an Internet provider that has already gone through this process which added your domain name. It follows that anyone accessing that Internet provider will be able to see your domain.
It might take up to 72 hours for the DNS to fully propagate but it usually takes less than 48 hours.
